As mentioned in the last report: after the Annual General Meeting is before the Annual General Meeting (AGM). On May 10, 2025, the 35th STL AGM took place at the Swiss Epilepsy Foundation in Zurich. Invited guests and the Board of Directors met at lunchtime in the sunny conservatory of the restaurant overlooking Lake Zurich. This relaxed atmosphere provided space for exchange and discussion before lunch was served. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In recent years, research into psychedelic substances has experienced a renaissance, particularly in the context of psychotherapy. Substances such as lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD), marijuana (cannabis), ayahuasca and mushrooms containing psilocybin are increasingly becoming the focus of medical studies. The therapeutic benefits must be weighed against the risks and the legal situation must be taken into account. In the case report, an acute and persistent head noise is described as a side effect of an ayahuasca ceremony. <\/p>

On Saturday, October 5, 2024, the information event “Tinnitus – and now?” took place at the University of Zurich Irchel. It was organized by Pro Audito Switzerland and the Swiss Tinnitus League (STL) to offer sufferers, professionals and interested parties a platform for information and exchange on the current state of tinnitus research and therapy. The correct and successful therapy for tinnitus with severe depression and suicidal tendencies is illustrated in a case report.<\/p>

If you are severely affected by tinnitus, you should always look for a psychological comorbidity (concomitant illness). If there is severe depression as a comorbidity, it is important to recognize any suicidal thoughts. Nobody has to end their own life because of tinnitus.
